Interactive app released for Bassetlaw’s new sculpture trail
We were really excited when Making Trails contacted us about creating an interactive app for a brand new sculpture trail, the North Notts Nectar trail. This outdoor art exhibition has been put together by Making Trails and is being brought to you by North Notts Business Improvement District (BID), in partnership with Bassetlaw District Council and the DBH Charitable Fund.
The trail features a rabble of 30 bee sculptures, located accross the Worksop, Retford, Harworth and Tuxford area. The sculptures showcase artwork from a wide range of talented artists, many from the North Notts area. They are made from recycled, reformed plastic, and each celebrate positive character traits and good environmental behaviours. The trail is a free and fun activity for families, local communities and visitors to enjoy. The app enables trail visitors to get the most out of their visit to the trail and download rewards.
The North Notts Nectar Trail is a 20 week exhibition, culminating in a charity auction where the bee sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for the DBH Charitable Fund.
Can you find the bees?
The app, we created, is available for iOS and android phones and can be downloaded for free on the App Store and the Google Play Store
Users of the app can :
- Locate the bee sculptures using a user friendly map.
- Type in a unique four-digit code located on the sculpture base, when they find a bee which unlocks artist information, a bee fact and a reward.
- Keep track of how many bees the user has visited and which ones still need to be collected and rewards.
- Donate easily and quickly to the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching hospital Trust, the project’s chosen charity.
