A website, an app, a system that needs looking after, or an accessibility audit. Whatever it is, this form comes straight to us.

FAQ

Everything You Need to Know

The questions we get asked most often, before anyone signs anything.
What kind of work do you take on?

Custom software, web systems, iOS and Android apps, accessibility audits and long-term managed service. Usually where something off the shelf doesn't fit, or where several systems need to talk to each other.

We know what we want to do, but not how. Is that a problem?

That's the normal starting point, and it's where we're most useful. We begin by learning your processes and following the flow of information — talking to the people who actually use the thing — before anyone designs or builds anything.

Are we too small to work with you?

We work with blue-chip and public-sector clients and with owner-managed businesses. What matters is whether the problem is worth solving, not the size of the organisation.

How does a project actually run?

Discovery first, then a designed solution — architecture, process and data flows, wireframes — so everyone can agree the shape of it before it gets built. Then short build cycles with frequent deployment, so you see progress rather than waiting for a launch date.

What happens after launch?

Almost every client we have is on a support agreement, and some of those relationships are older than most agencies. Projects have to evolve to stay useful, so we support the lifetime of the work rather than handing it over and walking away.

What does your maintenance actually involve?

Automated build and deployment pipelines, security scanning on every release, error monitoring in production, rehearsed rollbacks, and evidence reports you can hand to your own auditors. It's a system, not someone remembering to check something on a Tuesday.

Will you support software you didn't build?

Often, yes. We'd start with an assessment of the code, the hosting and the dependencies, so that both sides know what's being taken on before anything is agreed.

How do you handle accessibility?

We build accessible by default, and we audit and remediate existing websites and apps against the WCAG standard. We took the BNP Paribas Personal Finance and Creation Finance sites to full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, loan application journeys included.

How do you price work?

Where the scope can be defined up front — an accessibility audit, for example — we quote a fixed price for a fixed scope. Where real discovery is needed first, we'll say so rather than guess at a number and revise it later.

What does it cost to find out whether you can help?

Nothing. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right people for it — including when we're not.

Where are you based, and does that matter?

Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. We work with clients across the UK, and we've delivered projects with teams in Germany and the Netherlands, so location is rarely the constraint.

What are your terms of business?

Our standard terms and conditions of trading are published on this site, alongside our privacy and cookie policies. Haywyre LLP is registered in England and Wales, partnership number OC315517.
